Love, Rosie.
Hi Guys,
Thought I'd do a little review of Love, Rosie, also known as the book 'Where the rainbow ends' (or 'Love, Rosie' in America) so the film is the adaptation of the book, which I really loved, I read it so quickly, and its not a small book.
The film in itself was an amazing adaptation of the book, getting every point right and the main points were put across how I imagined when reading the book. Lily Collins is an amazing actress and I love all her work, I think if you were imagining Rosie Dunne as a real person you would see Lily Collins, so a big pat on the back to casting for that one, I do think they could've chose someone different for Alex, as I didn't imagine him to be like that, don't get me wrong I do like Sam Claflin, but I feel they should've chose someone who gave cross Alex's cheeky charm. Saying that I do think they both did so well in performing in the film and played their characters exceptionally.
The only thing I found wrong with the film is that they didn't keep the letter concept alive, they only did snippets, if you have read the book you will understand what I mean, the whole thing is set out by writing letters to each other, I feel this is the main concept of the book and they didn't keep it alive.
Its a film that I feel anyone could watch, it is a 'romcom' but I feel its the comedy side which attracted me more than the actually romance side, making it more approachable for different people, I did actually crack up a few times.
All in all I would give it a 8/10, based on the efforts of the writers, producers, director and cast making this a film that I wanted to buy after seeing it and not ruining a book that I much love and it was very well executed. So I would urge you all to go see it.
Hope you enjoyed my quick review/opinion on Love, Rosie.
I am going to see 'It Follows' on Thursday and if I'm not curled up in a ball sobbing forever I will write a quick review on that too.
Until next time
Abbi xoxo
