Take Control.
Anxiety is a feeling that is hard to describe, its the feeling of unease, not relaxed, and I like to explain it as the 'Feeling of Dread' meaning I think something is going to happen and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Anxiety can affect everyone, but for some people, it can be hard to control.
Most people don't understand anxiety, like some people don't understand the off side rule, once its been explained once or maybe twice, you will find people will start understanding how you're feeling, so the next step is down to YOU.
If you can't control you're own anxiety, how can you expect anyone else too, so for once be selfish, make sure you're okay before anyone else. Signs of having an anxiety attack;
- Heart race has increased
- Sweaty hands
-Hyperventilation
-Becoming dizzy
-Sickness
-'Jelly legs'
So many more, but for me those are the main ones, there are a few ways you can take control;
Breathing Techniques
So, so, so helpful, I cannot stress enough how breathing properly helps subside a panic attack, if you are not breathing properly you are hyperventilating, meaning you are not getting enough oxygen into your body, therefore your lips may start tingling which in affect will most probably make you panic more. Google breathing techniques for anxiety, so many results will appear and you can find which is the best for calming you down.
EXERCISE!
My doctor has told me she wants me to get out everyday, even if it is for a walk around the block, the exercise and fresh air helps clear your head and makes you think clearer, if you don't want to go on your own, go with someone close to you.
Think Positive
If you feel a panic attack coming, think positive, think what is the worse that can happen? you're having a panic attack it will subside and nothing major can happen.
Say NO to caffeine
Caffeine makes your heart beat faster, which obviously is not the best if you have anxiety, you do not want something in your system which will make you worse.
Seek help.
Be it from your doctor or contacting a therapist, once you have someone to talk to you it makes it easier to accept it.
TAKE CONTROL.
Once you realise you can control your anxiety, take it from me, life gets so much better.
I've done another post about anxiety as they are getting more views so I'm hoping I'm helping someone out there.
Until next time
